TITLE: DON’T BE TOO QUICK TO CONCLUDE

AUTHORED BY PASTOR CHARLES AND FAVOUR CHUKWUEMEZIE

PROVERBS 18:17 “In a lawsuit the first to speak seems right, until someone comes forward and cross-examines.”

We live in a world of conflict, therefore whatever you have to do with words, you try your best consciously to do it wisely. Anyone who does not offend in words is perfect…James 3:2

Cross examination of issues before drawing conclusions is very important. One important thing to deal with in your life is sentiments.
Sentiments beclouds view; it will make you give wrong judgements. When you are supposed to judge a matter between two people, sentiments must be out of it. Make up your mind not to take issues and people personal, there’s need to be objective.

If you have an issue against someone in your heart, settle it quickly. It becomes even more important if you have to judge a matter between that person and someone else.

Don’t jump into conclusions on any matter involving two people without first hearing from both parties.

You will not be able to achieve justice by just concluding on one person’s view. Even if it is obvious that the other person is the one at fault, it is good that you still give them a chance to speak to avoid passing the wrong signal.

It is not true that the person who came to report first must be the one who is right. Parents and leaders especially, must be careful about this.
When you conclude a matter on one person’s report you are either passing a message to the other person that he/she is not important and that their opinion is meaningless to you, or you give the impression that you have already written them off, like ‘I know you to be always the one at fault.’ Another thing it could spring up is hatred towards the other party and rebellion towards you.

People are very important and must be treated as such. Do to others what you will love them to do to you. Jesus listened to the people who came to report the woman who committed adultery, but He also gave that woman a chance to speak… Daughter, where are your accusers? John 8:10-11

There’s already enough concussion in the world, let’s not be a part of creating more.
