TITLE: HOW TO ENSURE A GREAT HARVEST
AUTHORED BY PASTOR CHARLES AND FAVOUR CHUKWUEMEZIE
JEREMIAH 4 : 3 “For thus saith the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.”
To sow amongst thorns yesterday can be frustrating. Today, we would be looking at what leads to planting on thorny soil and how to avoid it. This year, we must ensure that nothing chokes up our harvest.
What does it mean to break up fallow grounds? A fallow ground is a field that is deliberately left unsown. This means that a farmer cleared the land but intentionally refuses to plant on it. This can lead to thorns growing in that land.
As we all know, nature abhors vacuums.
By reason of your salvation in Christ Jesus, your field is already cleared and you should start planting. The farmer didn’t plant because he lacked resources, he just didn’t want to plant. Just as some of us wallow in ignorance, not because there is no knowledge. Don’t reject knowledge this year. If you do, you are not different from the farmer who won’t sow and ended up sowing amongst thorns.
Dish out love without limits to everyone you can find. Maintaining a heart of hatred/offence/bitterness will make you sow amongst thorns.
Know what should be and put it in place, you will be amazed how much the grace of God will make happen for you.
Joseph is a perfect example of one who refused to sow amongst thorns. Despite all his brothers did, he refused to go on a revenge mission.
