TITLE: TODAY IS YOUR CHANCE TO DO RIGHT
AUTHORED BY PASTOR CHARLES AND FAVOUR CHUKWUEMEZIE
PROVERBS 27:10 ” Do not forsake your friend and your father’s friend, and do not go to your brother’s house in the day of your calamity. Better is a neighbor who is near than a brother who is far away.”
Some people give away their tomorrow today. When they deal with people, they act as though the world ends today. Truth remains that, what you make happen for others, God will make happen for you.
Don’t forsake means don’t turn your back. Don’t turn your back on your friend and your father’s friend. It is actually in the times of need that you know your friend and also judge yourself, whether you are a friend or not.
Jonathan was so nice to David, even against his father’s wish; David paid back that kindness in due course. Jonathan was long dead, yet David took his son Mephibosheth out of darkness to light.
You’ve got today to do things right, treat people right. When people are in need and they have to go far away to seek help, that may mean one thing; that they may have been wicked to friends, their father’s friends and their close neighbours.
Family relations can be a great resort in times of need, but there are some help that come handy from friends and neighbours.
For example, in the middle of the night, your wife is in labour and your car just broke down. Is it not faster to ask help from a neighbour than wait for your brother who doesn’t live in the same city with you?
What you do today to your friends and your father’s friends, and even your neighbours, determines who you will run to in your time of need. Don’t forget that God uses people to help us.
