TITLE: WAITING IS A VIRTUE
AUTHORED BY PASTOR CHARLES AND FAVOUR CHUKWUEMEZIE
LUKE 24:49 ” And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.”
Waiting is a virtue associated with patience; not everyone can wait. Most people would prefer to do it now, get it now, say it now, and start it now. It’s all about now or never for impatient people. If you refuse to wait and hit a rock, you’ll eventually start afresh or loose out entirely.
Waiting is not stupidity or weakness. When you are waiting, don’t care who thinks you’re slow. There’s always a time for every purpose. We all have our turn, so it’s important to know that people’s opinion don’t determine your effectiveness.
First Jesus tells His disciples to go and preach the gospel. That is assignment. And the assignment comes with empowerment. He assures them that they can heal the sick and perform all kinds of miracles as they go to preach. You too have an assignment and you have been empowered to achieve it. First thing is to discover it if you haven’t.
Secondly, He tells them to wait in Jerusalem. That is called direction. You too must seek direction before you embark on that assignment. Seek to know whom you should reach, location and how.
The third and very important one is to be sensitive to know when it’s time. Some instructions are not meant to be carried out immediately.
Jesus came to die, He knew it so well but He didn’t die at birth or while He was younger, He refused to be killed untimely. Jesus died at the right time, and that’s why His mission was not aborted.
Learn to wait; when you do, you will only soar and have no room for regrets.
